The course Finite Inelasticity focuses on the theoretical and numerical modeling of hyperelasto-plastic materials. It covers finite strain hyperelasticity, damage mechanics and hyperelastoplasticity with hardening.

After successful completion, the students

• will be able to name and to classify models for these classes of materials to compare their individual benefits and to identify potential pitfalls.
• will be able to implement these material models in a finite element framework to solve specific engineering problems.
• will be able to modify or extend a solution to changed requirements of the system at hand.
